August 29th-September 2nd

Welcome to Lincoln Street School and to 3rd grade! I am very excited to start our year together. I hope you all had a fun, productive and relaxing summer.

In this weekly blog you will find the homework listed for the week as well as other important information. The homework is subject to change after I have posted it to the blog. Occasionally our day might not go according to plan so I might have to modify the homework accordingly. One thing that will stay the same is reading. Part of the homework in 3rd grade it to read 15 minutes a day. That will stay the same throughout the school year. Spelling and math are the other subjects that your child will receive homework in. Once in a while we might have a project that requires some work at home as well.

Again, I am very excited to start the year. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. It would also be great if you would share any information that might be helpful when working with your child, as I like to create a safe and comfortable environment for the children to flourish.

Thank you for your support throughout the upcoming school  year!

June 13th-17th

Homework:
Because this week is the last week of school we will not have any homework.

Summer Recommendations:
1. Please encourage your child to keep up their reading over the summer. It would be helpful is they are asked deep questions about their reading as well to help them find important details and make inferences.
2. Please have your child practice math facts. It would also be great if they have opportunities to work through some multistep word problems.
3. Keeping a journal or diary about the exciting events that they experience over the summer will help them maintain their writing skills as well. Expanding their sentences and using rich language is great is very important.

We have a packed week full of fun! Here is a list of important times to remember:
1. Tuesday morning is field day! Please wear a black shirt.
2. Wednesday is our performance of "Spaced Out!" Please join us in the cafeteria at 9am.
3. Thursday is our final party. Feel free to drop in and hang out with our class at 9am.
